Record your computer screen directly from Google Chrome: Screencastify
Screencastify is a Chrome extension that allows you to record a video of whatever takes place or is being shown on your computer screen. You can show how to install a software, how to navigate a website or you can show a presentation in full screen and add your live voice commentary as you go through it.
Screencastify supports also the recording of your webcam, and will save your video recording directly to your Google drive unless you prefer to save them locally. Videos are recorded as WebM/VP8 files with Ogg Vorbis audio.
Recorded video screencasts can be set to *public*, can be published directly on YouTube, or they can also be set to *private* or *unlisted* providing access only to those who have the direct link to it.
Free plan allows for a maximum of 10-minutes long recordings (no cropping, and with Screencastify brand).

Excellent alternative to software based screencasting tools. Only limitation is recording format which may not be so easy to edit unless you have Adobe Premiere Pro a plug-in available to add webm support directly, or, if you are on Windows, by using the WebM DirectShow Filters which add WebM support to many applications.
